Salary: £31,000 - £34,000 + tips

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Our client is looking for a talented and experienced Sous Chef to take on a key leadership role in a vibrant, fast-paced kitchen. You’ll work closely with the Head Chef and Junior Sous Chef, helping to oversee the kitchen team and ensuring every dish that leaves the pass is top quality.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Supporting the Head Chef in running daily kitchen operations, ensuring everything flows seamlessly during service.
• Leading and mentoring the kitchen team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and development.
• Preparing and cooking dishes to perfection, maintaining consistency, quality, and presentation.
• Overseeing prep schedules to ensure the kitchen is ready for service.
• Monitoring food quality, conducting tastings, and implementing improvements where needed.
• Managing inventory, monitoring stock levels, and reducing waste to keep costs in check.
• Ensuring the kitchen stays spotless and compliant with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Resolving any operational issues or equipment malfunctions quickly and effectively to maintain service quality.

WHAT OUR CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR:

• Proven experience in a Sous Chef or similar leadership role in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong culinary expertise with a passion for high-quality ingredients and exceptional presentation.
• Leadership skills with experience in training, mentoring, and inspiring a team.
• Solid knowledge of food safety standards, health regulations, and kitchen hygiene practices.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to keep calm under pressure.
• Strong time management and organisational skills to juggle multiple tasks during busy services.
