Job Title: Sous Chef
Location: Luxury Hotel & Golf Club, near Plymouth
Salary: £30,000 per annum + Service Charge
Hours: Full-time | 40–45 hours per week | 5 days over 7

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team and delivering high-quality, seasonal cuisine. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled chef ready to step into a leadership role in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of seasonal menus
  • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and hygiene standards
  • Supervise and support junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team culture
  • Help manage stock control, ordering, and food cost efficiency
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, health & safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Step up to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef in a quality kitchen
  • Passion for food, creativity, and delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of food safety and kitchen best practices
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Culinary qualifications or equivalent experience
