Location: Luxury Hotel near Chippenham
Salary: £38,841 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 48 Hours

Pineapple Recruitment is currently seeking a motivated Sous Chef to join a luxury hotel. The role involves setting and maintaining high culinary standards, ensuring efficient kitchen operations, implementing health and safety protocols, and supporting budget management.
This Michelin starred restaurant enjoys the most beautiful of settings, all with a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. Headed up by enthusiastic Executive Chef, the brigade of talented chefs create delicious seasonal dishes crafted from local ingredients, enhanced by wines of the world expertly matched, creating an impressive dining experience to remember. The Hotel Kitchen comprises lounge dining, Michelin Restaurant & Working lunches.

Role Responsibility
Lots to do but lots of fun
The successful Sous Chef will:
  • Assist in the smooth operation of kitchen sections and develop the kitchen brigade to meet required standards.
  • Innovate and explore new methods for menu creation and food production.
  • Collaborate with the Head/Executive Chef to ensure menus are updated to reflect current trends and guest preferences.
  • Manage stock control and product cost systems effectively.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills within the kitchen team and with other departments.
  • Prioritize guest satisfaction and demonstrate flexibility to accommodate business and event needs.
  • Support the Head/Executive Chef in training kitchen staff on health, hygiene, and safety practices.
  • Assist in menu planning and stay proactive in assessing industry trends and innovations.
  • Support team management through training, development, performance management, and general welfare initiatives.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection process for new kitchen team members.
  • Fulfill administrative duties including scheduling, ordering, and liaising with suppliers.

The successful Sous Chef will have:

  • Leadership skills and the ability to inspire and develop a team.
  • Financial acumen with experience in improving standards and implementing innovative ideas.
