Our client is a well-regarded hospitality group, celebrated for their award-winning restaurants and commitment to quality. They are now launching a brand-new site and are looking for a Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team and delivering an exceptional food offering.

The Role:

As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You’ll be involved in maintaining excellent standards, mentoring junior chefs, and contributing ideas for seasonal and innovative menus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Chef in leading and motivating the kitchen brigade.

• Support with menu development, incorporating fresh, seasonal ingredients.

• Ensure consistent food preparation and presentation to a high standard.

• Help manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.

• Maintain high levels of kitchen hygiene and food safety compliance.

• Contribute to cost control and kitchen efficiency.

• Assist in training and mentoring junior team members.

• Stay informed on food trends and contribute creative ideas to the menu.

Requirements:

• Experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef in a high-quality kitchen.

• Confident in leading a team and stepping up in the Head Chef’s absence.

• Solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

• Ability to stay calm under pressure and work efficiently.

• Strong communication and organisational skills.

• Financial awareness and ability to support in cost management.
