Our client is a well-regarded hospitality group, celebrated for their award-winning restaurants and commitment to quality. They are now launching a brand-new site and are looking for a Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team and delivering an exceptional food offering.
As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You’ll be involved in maintaining excellent standards, mentoring junior chefs, and contributing ideas for seasonal and innovative menus.
Assist the Head Chef in leading and motivating the kitchen brigade.
Support with menu development, incorporating fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Ensure consistent food preparation and presentation to a high standard.
Help manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
Maintain high levels of kitchen hygiene and food safety compliance.
Contribute to cost control and kitchen efficiency.
Assist in training and mentoring junior team members.
Stay informed on food trends and contribute creative ideas to the menu.
Experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef in a high-quality kitchen.
Confident in leading a team and stepping up in the Head Chef’s absence.
Solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to stay calm under pressure and work efficiently.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
