Sous Chef – Dual Site Role | York City Centre
Full-Time | £35,000 - £37,000 per year + Benefits


The Opportunity

Two acclaimed city centre restaurants in York are seeking an experienced or aspiring Sous Chef to join their senior kitchen team. Operated by a renowned hospitality group with Michelin-star credentials, these venues are known for their commitment to fresh, locally sourced ingredients and exceptional food across multiple dining formats.

This is a unique opportunity to work across two dynamic kitchens, supporting the Head Chefs and Executive Chef in delivering high-quality, creative dishes in a fast-paced, professional environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior chefs across both restaurants, stepping in to cover leadership duties when required.
  • Direct food preparation and ensure consistent quality and presentation.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development and kitchen strategy.
  • Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive team culture.
  • Assist with ordering, stock control, and supplier management.
  • Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in line with regulations.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of daily kitchen operations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience working in a busy, fresh-produce kitchen.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on quality and consistency.
  • Passionate about seasonal cooking and local sourcing.
  • Culinary qualifications and food safety certification are desirable.
