A charming countryside pub near Worcester is seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join its passionate kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to a menu focused on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.

You’ll work closely with the Head Chef to deliver exceptional food and memorable dining experiences in a warm, welcoming setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu development, bringing creativity and fresh ideas to seasonal dishes.
• Supervise and support kitchen staff, ensuring consistent food quality and adherence to hygiene standards.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient workspace.
• Manage stock levels, place orders, and reduce food waste through effective inventory control.
• Ensure all dishes meet high standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.
• Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture through strong leadership and communication.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a professional kitchen, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong culinary skills and a solid understanding of food safety regulations.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire a team in a high-pressure environment.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
• A genuine passion for food, hospitality, and seasonal cooking.
• Culinary qualifications are a plus but not essential.
• Driving licence preferred due to rural location.
