Senior Sous Chef – High-End Restaurant | West Sussex Area
Full-Time | £45,000 – £50,000 per year + Tips & Bonuses

Join a top-rated, independent, family-run restaurant in the West Sussex area, known for its dedication to quality and service. This established 150-cover venue specialises in Rosette-standard menus using locally sourced ingredients to produce Modern British Fayre. The client is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and experienced Senior Sous Chef to play a critical leadership role in collaboration with the Head Chef.
Kitchen Management: Running the kitchen in close collaboration with the Head Chef. Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of any given section and run the kitchen effectively in the Head Chef’s absence.
Menu Development: Assist the Head Chef in menu development and the creation of daily specials, bringing an enthusiastic and innovative approach to locally sourced produce.
Quality & Standards: Ensure the quality of food is consistently exceptional. Uphold cleanliness, organisation, and standards within the kitchen.
Team Leadership: Assist the Head Chef in training and developing younger members of the team. Demonstrate a committed and consistent work approach.
Operational Duties: Aid with daily ordering, whilst being aware of stock levels and menu planning. Ensure effective communication with the Front Of House team.
Experience: Strong experience in restaurant and gastro pubs is required.
Leadership: Proven leadership and team motivation abilities and strong hospitality management skills.
Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
Mindset: Demonstrates great attention to detail and an enthusiast approach to creating innovative dishes.
