Our client is a market leading contract catering company specializing in school food. By providing excellent care and services to both clients and children, they have ensured the successful growth of the company and to keep up with the rapid pace of this growth, they are now looking for an experienced Relief Chef Manager to join the team.
The role:
As a Relief Chef Manager you will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of a healthy, nutritious and fun menu for the students and staff in schools in your region. You will focus on delivering the highest quality of food and service along with having the flair, originality and the ability to make this one of the best catering offers in the area. The areas to be covered are from Romford to Southend-on-Sea.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading, developing, coaching, training, and motivating the teams in your kitchens
Supporting control of the catering operation including stock, food, and labour costs
Ensuring consistency of food and service standards delivered to the students and staff
Driving sales through monthly promotions and added value events
Managing and improving all controllable costs
Overseeing menu development
Maintaining company systems & procedures, and legislation
Carrying out regular audits to ensure standards are being met
About you
Our client requires someone who shares their passion for delivering exceptional food and service to their schools along with the following skills and experience:
A full UK Driving License
Ideally you will have some knowledge of education catering having used fresh ingredients and possess excellent craft skills
You have Food Hygiene level 2 & 3 (further training will be available)
You have excellent knowledge of health and safety practices
Computer literate with experience of using different systems
You’re self-motivated, able to use your own initiative, have a desire to learn and achieve whilst motivating others

This role is:
37.5 hours per week – with no late nights
Working 38 weeks per year based around term time – what could you do with all that time off?
£30,000 per annum plus paid mileage
