Our Client is a market leading contract catering company specialising in school food. By combining their understanding of the education sector and their knowledge of what’s on trend in the food world, they encourage creativity and excitement in their kitchens, allowing teams to do what they do best and provide fantastic food experiences for the children.

By providing excellent care and services to both clients and children, our client has ensured the successful growth of the company and to keep up with the rapid pace of this growth, they are now looking for an experienced Regional Development Chef to join the team.

The role:

As a Regional Development Chef, you will be working with Chefs and Unit Managers to develop innovative and exciting food presentation ideas using fresh, sustainable ingredients; placing emphasis on consistently delivering the highest quality food as well as having the creative flair, originality and ability to make a stir in the school catering industry.

Locations to be covered are Bristol, Bath, Weston-super-Mare, Bridgwater.

Main responsibilities:

  • Working with chefs and unit managers to ensure a consistently fantastic dining experience for students and staff in line with all food policies
  • Leading in the preparation of delicious and nutritious meals of the highest quality, using fresh and sustainable ingredients; and overseeing menu development
  • Providing outstanding support and guidance to chefs within your area
  • Leading, developing, coaching and training chefs to ensure they are able to perform to the required standards compliance & policies in all areas of food health, safety and quality
  • Develop food offers & marketing initiatives, ensuring that they are on trend, innovative and profitable
  • Assist with increasing sales & retaining/growing the business via fresh food and innovation
  • Ensure that excellent levels of service are being delivered to customers
  • Compliance with all Company & Client policies, site rules and statutory regulations relating to Health & safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH.

About you:

We are looking for somebody who shares their passion for maintaining the highest standards of food and service for their customers along with the following:

  • Previous experience in a development or senior culinary role required
  • Excellent craft background and skills
  • Must drive
  • Industry acumen and knowledge of external catering developments & innovations
  • Strong financial understanding and demonstrable in understanding budgets
  • Experienced in adhering to and driving company initiatives
  • Proven ability communicating at different levels
  • Experience working in a standards/compliance environment
