Payroll Administrator – Worcester | Up to £27,000 | Permanent

Pineapple Recruitment is proud to be working exclusively with a well-regarded business support organisation based in Worcester, who are known for delivering valued services across a diverse range of sectors. As part of an exciting period of growth, they are now seeking a Payroll Administrator to join their fast-paced and collaborative team on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with existing payroll experience, or with a finance background where you have previously supported the payroll and pension function. The role offers full training and ongoing support, making it ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in payroll within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

About the Role

You’ll be part of a busy payroll team responsible for supporting the accurate and timely administration of 12 monthly payrolls for approximately 7,000 employees. The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks within a high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process new starters and manage P45 data

  • Complete statutory documentation (SSP1, SMP1, SPP1)

  • Record and update absence leave data

  • Support payroll overpayment recovery and monthly payroll processing

  • Maintain payroll documentation and filing systems

  • Respond to payroll queries via phone and email, escalating where necessary

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in payroll or a finance-related role with exposure to payroll and pensions

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

  • Clear and confident communication skills

  • Discretion when handling sensitive data

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, and email systems

The Details

  • Salary: Up to £27,000 depending on experience

  • Location: Office-based in Worcester / Hybrid after settling in period 

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

  • Training: Full training and support provided
