Night Manager – Luxury Hotel & Event Venue | Berkshire Countryside
Full-Time | £30,000 per year
The Opportunity
A beautifully restored countryside hotel in Berkshire is seeking a skilled and personable Night Manager to join its front-of-house team. The venue offers refined dining, a stylish bar, and hosts a variety of events including weddings, private parties, and corporate functions.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, providing excellent guest service, and ensuring the smooth running of the hotel during night hours.
Guest Experience:
Ensure all guests receive a warm and personalised welcome, anticipating needs and actioning requests promptly.
Build relationships to encourage guest returns, and ensure all regular and VIP guests are known and cared for.
Handle, follow up, and communicate any comments or complaints, escalating to relevant HODs/Managers when necessary.
Security & Operations:
Ensure all access to the hotel is secure according to policy.
Perform security duties, including two required floor walks (one at midnight and one at 4-5am) together with clearing trays in corridors.
Complete all incident reports and record any unusual occurrences for the Duty Manager.
Food & Beverage/Room Setup:
Offer and promote the night menu and a drink service (from the bar or room service), ensuring orders are prepared and delivered promptly.
Accurately set up and check rooms for meetings and private dining according to guest specifications and hotel standards.
Administration & Handover:
Accurately complete the Daily Brief and deliver it to all departments for the following morning.
Complete administrative tasks, handle reservation enquiries, and be fully conversant with current offers and hotel regulations.
Check in late arrivals and check out early departures promptly.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in Hospitality is required.
Skills: Excellent communication skills, a professional, punctual, and thoroughly organised approach.
Systems: Experience with Opera systems is preferred, although training will be provided.
Health & Safety: Full awareness and compliance with all departmental Fire, Emergency, and Bomb procedures to ensure the safety of people and property.
