We are seeking an experienced Interim Management Accountant to join a divisional finance function for 5 to 6 months. This is a critical role which ideally requires an immediate start on a fixed term and salary pro rata basis. Our client is looking for a professional who can provide steady value to a dedicated finance team during a key operational period.
What you’ll be doing:
- Financial Oversight: Lead the monthly forecasting process, budget preparation, and final accounts closure. You will ensure all costs are correctly accounted for and robustly analysed.
- Business Partnering: Provide customer-focused support to all managers. You will be expected to challenge variances and influence stakeholders.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Coordinate the preparation of annual revenue budgets and monthly profiling, ensuring all data is robustly challenged and signed off by stakeholders.
- Variance Analysis: Provide expert financial advice and evidence-based analysis of projected variances to support informed decision-making across the management team.
- Financial Year-End & Audit: Oversee the year-end closure process, ensuring the production of high-quality audit papers and reconciliation of all balance sheet codes.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven Lead: You have a strong track record in Management Accountancy with experience supporting junior members of the team.
- Technically Sharp: Expert knowledge of budget monitoring, forecasting, and year-end procedures.
- Communication: The ability to provide clear financial advice to non-finance stakeholders and "challenge" when necessary.
- Industry: Exposure within a public sector or shared service function highly desirable.
