HR Advisor

Job Description

HR Advisor / Part Time

Are you a proactive HR professional who enjoys being "out in the field" rather than stuck behind a desk? We are seeking a flexible and credible HR Advisor to provide high-quality, face-to-face support on a part time basis.

This is a visible, impactful role where you will build trusted relationships with leadership teams, guiding them through sensitive people issues and complex casework.

The Role

Working as part of a supportive and collaborative HR team, you will manage a variety of employee relations matters with a high degree of autonomy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • On-site Advisory: Act as the first point of contact for school leaders, providing advice on day-to-day HR and ER issues.

  • Casework Management: Lead on disciplinary, grievance, capability, and absence cases, including acting as an investigating officer and writing formal reports.

  • Change Support: Assist with redundancy and restructuring consultations.

  • Policy & Compliance: Support the implementation of HR policies and stay aligned with current employment law.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with trade union representatives and senior stakeholders to reach pragmatic resolutions.

What You’ll Need

  • HR Experience: Proven experience advising on employee relations matters and managing casework.

  • Education Knowledge: Experience within the education sector (and knowledge of school-specific terms) is desirable, but we welcome applicants from other sectors who can adapt quickly.

  • Qualifications: CIPD qualified (Level 5 preferred), working towards a qualification, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Flexibility: As this is not a desk-based role, you must be able to travel independently to various sites across the region, sometimes at short notice.

  • Communication: The ability to handle sensitive situations calmly and professionally is essential.

What’s on Offer?

  • Work-Life Balance: A unique part-time role (25 hours per week), perfect for those seeking flexibility.

  • Generous Leave: Starting at 26 days (pro-rata) plus bank holidays, rising with service.

  • Benefits: Access to a market-leading pension scheme, holiday buy/sell options, cycle-to-work scheme, and a retail/restaurant discount platform.

  • Supportive Environment: Join a team that values professional integrity and mutual support.

To Apply: If you are a customer-focused HR professional who thrives on variety and challenge, please submit your CV for a confidential discussion.
