Are you an experienced HR generalist who excels at coaching managers through complex employee relations? We are partnering with a prestigious, Cambridge based employer to find a dedicated HR Advisor to join their established personnel team. This is a newly created, permanent role for a professional who thrives in a multi-stakeholder environment. You will support a diverse workforce, providing the expert guidance necessary to foster a high-performing and inclusive workplace.
The Role Reporting to the Head of HR, you will lead on employee relations casework and act as a key advisor to managers across the organisation. Your focus will be on ensuring fair application of policies while maintaining high standards of legal compliance.
Key Accountabilities:
Employee Relations Lead: Guide managers through disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence matters within a legal framework.
Management Coaching: Support managers in drafting job descriptions and coach them through the recruitment and induction process.
Contractual Oversight: Manage requests relating to maternity, flexible working, and parental leave, facilitating all necessary variations.
Data-Driven Insights: Review data trends related to absence and turnover to highlight risks and drive service improvements.
Policy Development: Assist in reviewing and updating terms and conditions to reflect changes in employment law and best practice.
Departmental Support: Maintain accurate records throughout the employee lifecycle, from probation to exit interviews.
About You We are looking for a resilient, empathetic, and approachable professional who can balance pragmatism with sound judgment.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a generalist HR role, with proven experience leading complex or sensitive ER cases.
Qualifications: CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent experience) and educated to degree level.
Technical Proficiency: Strong IT skills, particularly in the use of MS Office and HRIS reporting/dashboards.
Communication: Excellent and concise written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to liaise at all levels.
Attributes: Meticulous with detail, a team player, and a good sense of humour.

Salary: £42,500 per annum.
