Location: Prestigious Cambridge College
Salary: £25,813.22 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
About the Role
Join a renowned Cambridge college as a Hospitality Assistant, supporting the delivery of high-quality food and beverage services to Fellows, students, staff, and guests. This is a varied and rewarding role within a friendly and professional team, where excellent customer service and attention to detail are key.
Key Responsibilities
- Service Delivery: Assist in the preparation and service of meals, snacks, and beverages in dining halls, meeting rooms, and event spaces.
- Customer Care: Provide a warm, courteous, and professional service to all guests, ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Event Support: Help set up and clear down for functions, formal dinners, and college events, including laying tables and serving food and drinks.
- Cleanliness & Hygiene: Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all service areas, following food hygiene and safety procedures.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with colleagues across the catering and hospitality team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Stock & Supplies: Assist with stock control, replenishing supplies, and reporting shortages to supervisors.
- Flexibility: Adapt to different service areas and shifts as required, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a hospitality, catering, or customer service role (desirable but not essential)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A friendly, approachable, and professional manner
- Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
- Good timekeeping and reliability
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety (training will be provided)
