Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + Bank Holiday Enhancements
Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week, rota basis including 1 in 3 weekends)

Job Summary:

Pineapple Recruitment is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef / Catering Manager to join our client’s specialist care facility. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated catering team, providing high-quality, nutritious, home-cooked meals for patients, staff, and visitors. You will oversee all aspects of kitchen management, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, managing budgets, and fostering a positive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day kitchen operations and develop innovative, cost-effective menus.

• Prepare and serve high-quality meals that cater to dietary requirements.

• Maintain the highest food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with regulations.

• Manage food and labour budgets efficiently while maintaining supplier relationships.

• Lead, motivate, and support the catering team to ensure high performance and staff development.

• Work closely with healthcare professionals to accommodate patients' nutritional needs.

Skills and Attributes:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in professional cooking.

• Passion for delivering homemade meals using fresh, high-quality ingredients.

• Recognised qualification in Professional Cookery or Catering Management (e.g., City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3).

• Strong knowledge of food safety, allergen management, and health & safety regulations.

• Financial acumen with experience in budget management and menu costing.

• Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.

• Ability to mentor and train staff to enhance team performance.
