Salary: Up to £40,000 + TRONC (estimated extra £8k minimum per year)

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Head Chef who excels in leading a team and creating high-quality dishes with a focus on fresh, raw ingredients. The ideal candidate will not only be a skilled chef but also a natural leader who can mentor and inspire their team to consistently deliver excellence.

Head Chef Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Plan, organise, and oversee food preparation to maintain the company’s reputation for quality and consistency.
  • Food Quality: Prepare high-quality dishes quickly and efficiently, ensuring all meals are served at their best.
  • Kitchen Management: Manage stock, reduce waste, and oversee day-to-day kitchen operations in a proactive, hands-on manner.
  • Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of chefs and kitchen staff, providing training and guidance.
  • Hygiene and Safety: Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, and safety.
  • Stock Control: Oversee ordering and stock control, ensuring minimal waste and efficient use of ingredients.
  • Dietary Compliance: Ensure adherence to allergen laws and respect for dietary requirements.
  • Scheduling: Create rotas and cleaning schedules for kitchen staff.

Head Chef Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Head Chef
  • Strong culinary and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Energetic, with a passion for delivering excellence
  • Ability to manage staff calmly and inspirationally
  • Forward-thinking with strong stock management and waste reduction skills
  • A passion for food and teamwork
  • Strong organisation skills
  • An understanding of profit margins and food cost controls
  • Right to work in the UK
