Group Chef Manager

Job Description

Our Client is a market leading contract catering company specialising in school food. By combining their understanding of the education sector and their knowledge of what’s on trend in the food world, they encourage creativity and excitement in their kitchens, allowing teams to do what they do best and provide fantastic food experiences for the children.

By providing excellent care and services to both clients and children, our Client has ensured the successful growth of the company and to keep up with the rapid pace of this growth, they are now looking for an experienced Group Chef Manager to join the team.

As our Group Chef Manager you will support the roll out of exciting company menus and food offers across the schools within your area. You will develop and deliver the launch of delicious and innovative food, demonstrating an understanding of financial, operational and consumer requirements. Working with Chefs and Unit Managers, you will ensure that food standards across the business are of the highest standards with the presentation to match.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Developing engaging food offers & marketing initiatives, ensuring that we are on trend, innovative and profitable
  • Ensuring that our food offering increases sales and encourages retention of existing business
  • Coaching and developing Chefs within your area across the core areas - company standards, compliance & policies in all areas of food health, safety and quality
  • Ensuring that excellent levels of service are being delivered consistently to customers and any problems are addressed and resolved quickly
  • Compliance with all Company & Client policies, site rules and statutory regulations relating to Health & safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH

The Ideal Candidate:

You’ll currently work in a development or senior culinary role with experience in catering within the Education Sector. You can demonstrate creativity and flair in the food you produce, and with strong industry acumen, you keep up to date with industry trends, developments and innovations. You have strong financial understanding including budgets and costs and are able to pass this understanding on to the Chefs within your area. With proven ability to communicate at different levels, you drive company initiatives and engage audiences. Having worked in a compliance-led environment previously, you understand the importance of following policies and procedures. Due to the nature of the role, previous management and multi-site experience is essential.

Package Description:

  • 40 hours per week
  • 42 weeks per year (Term Time)
  • £32,000 per annum
  • Car allowance
