Front of House Supervisor
Location: Newport
Salary: up to £30,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Front of House Supervisor to join our Client’s growing canteen team. This is a fast-paced environment where excellent customer service, strong leadership, and efficient organisation are essential. You will oversee daily front of house operations, ensuring smooth service, a welcoming atmosphere, and high standards of presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the front of house team to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Lead by example, motivating staff to maintain a professional, friendly, and efficient service at all times.
- Manage staff rotas, breaks, and shift allocations to ensure adequate cover during peak periods.
- Oversee cash handling, tills, and daily reconciliation.
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with health & safety and food hygiene standards.
- Deal effectively with customer queries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner.
- Work closely with the kitchen and management team to ensure smooth coordination between front and back of house.
- Assist with training and onboarding of new staff.
- Support stock control, ordering, and deliveries where required.
About You
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role within hospitality, catering, or retail.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised, with the ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
- A customer-focused approach with a passion for service.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety standards (Level 2 Food Safety preferred).
- Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays if required.
