Finance Manager Salary: Up to £60,000 + Bonus & Comprehensive Benefits
This is a fantastic opportunity for a practical, down-to-earth Finance Manager to take full ownership of the finance function within a well-established and successful company. We are looking for someone who enjoys the variety of a small-team environment to provide clear financial guidance to the owners while staying close to the day-to-day details that keep the business running smoothly. As the lead person in finance, you will be a key part of the management team, ensuring the business has the structure and financial clarity it needs to keep moving forward.
The Role Reporting directly to the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead the finance function to ensure the business operates with maximum visibility and rigorous governance. You will act as a trusted advisor to the Board, ensuring that financial strategy is seamlessly integrated with the company’s broader commercial objectives.
Core Responsibilities:
Departmental Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, establishing clear performance expectations and high professional standards.
Management Reporting: Take full ownership of the end-to-end preparation of monthly management accounts, providing the Board with clarity through detailed variance analysis.
Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the annual budgeting process and implement rolling 12-month cash flow forecasting to ensure long-term stability.
Commercial Partnership: Work closely with procurement and operations to maintain margin visibility and identify opportunities for cost-base optimisation.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to finance systems and internal controls to drive greater operational efficiency.
Compliance & Governance: Oversee all essential statutory functions, including VAT submissions, payroll, pensions, and year-end accounting processes.
About You We are looking for a candidate who is calm under pressure, commercially disciplined, and a confident communicator when presenting to Board-level stakeholders.
Experience: Proven senior finance leadership experience gained within a fast-paced SME environment.
Qualifications: Ideally fully or part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or proven experience at a senior level.
Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and robust financial modelling capabilities. Experience with mid-market ERP systems is highly desirable.
Approach: A demonstrable track record of implementing financial governance frameworks and driving meaningful process improvements.
