This role is perfect for a strategic professional who enjoys a blend of high-level oversight and hands-on financial management. You will lead and mentor a small, dedicated team, providing the oversight and support.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Management
Management Accounts: Prepare comprehensive monthly management accounts, including profit and loss forecasts, cash flow analysis, and balance sheet maintenance.
Strategic Advisory: Provide financial insights and expectations to Directors to aid in both short-term and long-term decision-making.
Board Reporting: Present detailed financial reports to board members in formal meetings.
Policy Development: Develop and implement robust accounting policies and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Daily Financial Operations: Oversee day-to-day transactions, including banking, recording entries on the management system.
Invoicing, Payroll & Administration
Transaction Management: Streamline accounts payable/receivable, ensuring invoices are authorised and paid promptly.
Payroll: Manage the end-to-end payroll process for all staff within the group.
Credit Control: Oversee client credit control and maintain meticulous reconciliation spreadsheets.
Person Specification: Qualifications & Experience:
A recognised Accounting or Finance qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
Skills & Attributes:
Analytical Excellence: Strong ability to research and analyse financial reports and market trends.
Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of accounting software.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent people management skills and a collaborative team player.
