Commis Pastry Chef – Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commis Pastry Chef to join the kitchen brigade at a prestigious 4-star hotel located in the heart of Hampshire. Working within a fine dining environment, the successful candidate will support the pastry section in delivering high-quality desserts, afternoon teas, baked goods, and other sweet offerings. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate pastry chef to develop their skills under the guidance of an experienced and supportive senior team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and presentation of a range of pastry dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency across all services.

• Support the Pastry Chef in maintaining smooth, efficient service through effective planning and communication.

• Uphold high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety, especially within the pastry section.

• Build positive working relationships with colleagues across all departments.

• Help minimise waste and maintain stock control within the pastry kitchen.

• Take pride in your appearance and the upkeep of your uniform, ensuring professionalism at all times.

• Carry out any reasonable tasks as requested by the Pastry Chef or management.

Ideal Candidate:

• A strong interest in pastry and baking, with a genuine passion for food presentation and flavour.

• Ability to work efficiently within a busy team environment.

• Good communication and organisational skills.

• A flexible and proactive attitude towards learning and development.

• Previous experience in a kitchen or pastry setting is desirable but not essential – full training and guidance will be provided.
