Salary: £13.21 per hour (£27,476 per annum equivalent)
Hours: 40 hours per week (Full-Time, Permanent)
Shift Pattern: 5 days over 7 (rotas set 3 weeks in advance with occasional weekends off)
Shift Times: Standard 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 11:30 AM, 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM, or 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM)

The Opportunity

Pineapple Recruitment is partnering with a premier seafront hotel on Hayling Island to recruit 3x Commis Chefs for its 420-guest cabaret and entertainment venue.

Specialising in structured event dining and á la carte service, this kitchen delivers high-quality plated meals for evening cabaret shows and functions. Joining an energetic brigade of 30 chefs, you will assist with plate setup, precise section prep, pass execution, and post-service kitchen management. Located right on the coast, the venue is easily accessible via local public transport links.

Key Responsibilities

• Plated & Event Service: Assist senior chefs on the pass with plated service delivery for cabaret dining and functions.

• Section Support: Perform daily prep tasks, sauce preparations, and garnishing to exact specification.

• Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintain impeccably clean, sanitized, and organised work stations adhering to food safety guidelines.

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with front-of-house teams and kitchen porters to ensure smooth service timing during showtime dining.

• A keen eye for detail, food presentation, and consistency.

• Positive, proactive attitude with a genuine enthusiasm for building a career in hospitality.

• Ability to stay calm and organised during structured, high-tempo dinner services.

• Basic kitchen safety knowledge and clear verbal communication skills.
