Hours: 40 hours per week (Full-Time, Permanent)

Shift Pattern: 5 days over 7 (rotas set 3 weeks in advance with occasional weekends off)
Shift Times: Standard 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 11:30 AM, 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM, or 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM)

The Opportunity

Pineapple Recruitment is partnering with a premier coastal resort on Hayling Island to recruit 3x Commis Chefs for its bustling 520-guest lakeside destination.

Operating a high-volume, fresh-food buffet concept, this site caters to up to 90% occupancy year-round. Working within a skilled brigade of 30 chefs (8–12 on shift), you will gain hands-on experience across multiple kitchen stations, assisting senior chefs with high-volume food prep, batch cooking, section maintenance, and seamless food service. This role includes live-in accommodation options and has a public bus stop located directly outside the resort entrance.

Key Responsibilities

• High-Volume Prep: Support senior chefs with bulk ingredient preparation, section setup, and replenishing fresh buffet stations during peak services.

• Food Service & Running: Ensure food is cooked, garnished, and dispatched efficiently to maintain temperature and food quality standards.

• Kitchen Operations: Maintain strict stock rotation (FIFO), kitchen hygiene, and allergen controls across prep stations.

• Skill Development: Actively participate in station rotation to learn key culinary techniques under the guidance of experienced CDPs and Sous Chefs.

Skills & Requirements

• Passion for culinary arts and an eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a large brigade.

• Basic understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety principles.

• Flexibility to work varied early and late shifts across a 7-day rota.
