Salary: £31,253.47 per annum

About the Role
Join a prestigious Cambridge college as a Chef de Partie, playing a key role in delivering exceptional meals for Fellows, students, staff, and guests. Working under the guidance of the Sous Chef and Head Chef, you’ll take ownership of a specific kitchen section, ensuring high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Section Management: Take responsibility for a designated section of the kitchen (e.g., sauces, grill, larder), ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook dishes to the highest standards, following recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely and coordinated service.
- Quality Control: Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and presentation of dishes.
- Health & Safety: Adhere to food hygiene and safety standards, including HACCP and COSHH protocols.
- Stock Management: Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, and reporting shortages.
- Training Support: Help train junior kitchen staff and apprentices as needed.
- Service Readiness: Ensure your section is fully prepped and ready for service, with all mise en place completed.
Essential Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- HACCP and COSHH awareness
Essential Skills:
- Strong culinary skills in a specific kitchen section
- Good organisational and time management abilities
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a professional kitchen
- Experience in a high-volume or institutional setting is desirable
