Pineapple Recruitment is partnering with a warm and dedicated nursing home on the outskirts of Worcester to recruit a passionate Chef.
If you are looking to step away from traditional hospitality hours while continuing to cook nutritious, fresh meals, this role offers the perfect balance. You will lead the kitchen operation to provide high-quality, balanced, and delicious meals for the residents. Operating on a full-time, permanent basis, this position offers stable daytime hours and a maximum finish time of 5:00 PM—allowing you to reclaim your evenings.
This role operates on a rota that includes alternate weekends, offering a predictable schedule and excellent work-life balance.
Meal Preparation: Prepare, cook, and present fresh, wholesome breakfast and lunch options tailored to the dietary requirements of the residents.
Specialist Diets: Modify menus and textures to cater to specific medical needs, including soft, pureed, diabetic, and allergen-safe meals.
Kitchen Management: Oversee daily stock rotation, food ordering, and waste control while managing the kitchen independently or alongside kitchen assistants.
Compliance & Hygiene: Maintain immaculate standards of cleanliness in line with Safer Food, Better Business (SFBB), HACCP, and Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations.
Proven experience as a Chef, Cook, or Second Chef within a care home, hospital, school, or contract catering environment.
Sound understanding of food safety, health and safety, and handling dietary and allergen requirements.
A patient, empathetic nature with a genuine desire to contribute to the well-being of elderly residents.
Reliable transport is essential due to the semi-rural location on the outskirts of Worcester.
Desirable: City & Guilds 706 1/2, NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery, or a current Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate.
Competitive hourly rate of £14.00 per hour with a guaranteed 36 hours per week.
