Chef Manager (Education Sector) – Sandbach

Term Time | £15.00 per hour | 30 Hours per week


The Opportunity

Our client is a market-leading contract caterer specialising in school food. They are dedicated to creating fantastic food experiences that fuel young minds by blending deep education sector knowledge with current high-street food trends. As a Chef Manager, you will go beyond the kitchen, acting as the operational lead to elevate the dining experience and establish the facility as one of the best in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Control: Take full responsibility for managing and improving all controllable costs, including stock, food, and labour.

  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and inspire your kitchen team to deliver excellence daily.

  • Culinary Innovation: Oversee menu development and drive engagement through exciting monthly promotions and added-value events.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all standards, systems, and essential legislation are met through regular audits and proactive management.

What Our Client Is Looking For

  • Commercial Acumen: A strong understanding of Gross Profit (GP) management and the strategic know-how to meet sales targets.

  • Craft Excellence: Fantastic craft skills with a genuine commitment to using fresh ingredients for high-quality food.

  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in line management with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.

  • Compliance: Excellent knowledge of health and safety practices and food hygiene legislation.

  • Qualifications: While an OND/HND is a bonus, significant on-the-job experience is highly valued.
