The Role

We are seeking an experienced Chef Manager to take full operational and financial responsibility for a school catering facility. This role involves leading a team, maintaining exceptional food and service standards, and bringing creative flair to ensure one of the best school catering offerings in the area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading, coaching, developing, and motivating the kitchen team.
  • Managing all aspects of the catering operation, including stock, food, and labour costs.
  • Ensuring consistent, high-quality food and service for students and staff.
  • Driving sales through monthly promotions and added-value events.
  • Controlling and improving all controllable costs.
  • Overseeing menu development to maintain variety and quality.
  • Ensuring adherence to company systems, procedures, and legislation.
  • Conducting regular audits to meet and maintain standards.

About You

The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional food and service, with the following skills and experience:

  • Craft-based cooking experience with fresh ingredients.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • Financial understanding of gross profit management and achieving sales targets.
  • Experience in line management and team leadership.
  • OND or HND qualification (advantageous but not essential).
  • Previous experience in a similar environment.
