Job title: Chef de Partie
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
Hours: Up to 45 hours a week, working evenings and weekends on a rota basis, with a mix of straight and split shifts
Location: Holt, North Norfolk
Job Type: Full‑time, covering lunch and dinner service. Live in accommodation while on shift may be available on application.
The Opportunity
Our client is a privately owned, family‑run hotel set in a stunning quayside location, offering panoramic views across the estuary and salt marshes within an officially designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With over 60 bedrooms, spacious lounges, a bar, restaurant, games room and a leisure area featuring an indoor pool, steam room, sauna and mini gym, the hotel proudly holds a 4‑AA‑Star rating.
They are now looking for a talented Chef de Partie to join their kitchen team; someone who is passionate about fresh food, confident running their own section, and able to deliver consistent, high‑quality dishes in a fast‑paced environment. This is a great opportunity to work with fresh ingredients, contribute to menu ideas and be part of a supportive, professional brigade.
Responsibilities
- Run your own section confidently, preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to a high standard.
- Work closely with the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth service across lunch and dinner.
- Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef with day‑to‑day kitchen operations.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards at all times.
- Assist with menu development, daily specials and seasonal dishes.
- Help manage stock, ordering and waste control to maintain efficiency.
- Train and support junior chefs when required.
- Keep your section organised, clean and service‑ready at all times.
Experience / Skills required:
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong experience as a Demi Chef de Partie ready to step up.
- A solid understanding of food hygiene and kitchen best practice (certification preferred).
- Experience working with fresh, high‑quality ingredients.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- A positive, professional attitude and the ability to work well within a team.
- Confidence running a section independently during busy services.

- You have experience in a busyenvironment, within a fresh‑food or high‑quality kitchen.
- Passionate about seasonal produce, flavour and presentation.
- Strong attention to detail with consistently high standards.
- A team player with good communication skills.
- Flexible, proactive and able to adapt in a busy kitchen.
