Job Title: Chef de Partie
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £31,385 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days, including evenings and weekends.
About the Role
A beautifully situated college in Cambridge is seeking a skilled and motivated Chef de Partie to support the Head Chef and Sous Chefs. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a chef who is passionate about food and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will help achieve the highest possible standards of food preparation and presentation for both the college community and commercial clients.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and present food at the required time and to expected standards.
Lead kitchen sections, organize ordering, and maintain standards.
Act as a shift leader in the absence of the Junior Sous Chef.
Ensure the correct methods and recipes are being followed.
Be involved in menu planning and support the Pastry section where needed.
Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.
Adhere to all HACCP and Health and Safety guidelines.
Be aware of food allergies and the appropriate measures to deal with them.
Ideal Candidate
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a professional kitchen is required.
Qualifications: You must have a minimum of NVQ Level 2 in professional cookery or an equivalent.
Skills: The ideal candidate will have good cooking skills and knowledge, familiarity with operating in a fast-paced, large-volume environment, and be able to use their own initiative. You must also be organized, methodical, and have clear communication skills. An excellent understanding of allergen management and labeling is essential.
