Our client is seeking a full-time Chef De Partie to join their dynamic team. This vital role supports the smooth operation of the kitchen, helping ensure the delivery of high-quality food and an exceptional experience for guests, staff, and visitors. This role is essential to the kitchen's success, requiring professionalism, adaptability, and excellent attention to detail. You will maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards, assist with food preparation, and provide essential support to the culinary team.
Job Purpose
As Chef de Partie, you will work closely with the Catering team to meet the department's daily operational requirements. Reporting to the Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef, you will oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring high standards and adherence to health and hygiene regulations. You will also support training and development within the kitchen team.
Hours of Work:
37.5 hours per week
Straight shifts with no split shifts
Work only one weekend in four, with most weekend shifts during term time being 8 am–4 pm
Additional shifts may be required during the summer and for occasional events.
Annual Leave:
25 days of paid annual leave plus public holidays (pro-rata for part-time hours).
Increasing to 27 days plus public holidays from January 2025.

Key Responsibilities
Take responsibility for food service as needed.
Prepare, cook, and present meals to the highest standards.
Work across all kitchen sections as required.
Assist in creating inspiring menus based on College requirements.
Maintain cleanliness and adhere to food hygiene practices in all areas.
Ensure HACCP and due diligence records are accurate and up-to-date.
Adhere to health, safety, and security regulations, including COSHH.
Inspect kitchen facilities and report issues to senior staff.
Check deliveries to ensure quality standards and complete necessary documentation.
Ensure team members are proficient in using kitchen equipment.
Stay informed on market trends and conduct research as directed.
Carry out reasonable requests from the management team in a cost-effective and timely manner.
Person Specification Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
Experience working in a professional kitchen.
NVQ Level 2 in Catering & Hospitality (Food Preparation & Cooking) or equivalent.
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
Substantial cooking experience in a similar role.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
Advanced knowledge of international cuisines.
Essential Personal Attributes:

Customer-focused attitude with a professional and respectful demeanour.
