Job Title: Chef de Partie

Establishment: Historic, Grad II listed Hotel

Location: Suffolk

Salary: Up to £30,000 + Service Charge

Role Overview:

A vacancy has arisen for a Chef De Partie at a historic, Grade II listed hotel, bar, and restaurant in the heart of Suffolk.

Key Details:

  • Contract: Permanent, working up to 45 hours over 5 days per week as per rota (including 30 mins unpaid break per shift), covering weekdays, weekends, daytime, evenings, and Bank Holidays, with some split shifts.
  • Salary: Competitive, Up to £30K, plus gratuities.
  • Start: Likely to begin on an hourly basis, leading to a permanent position.


  • Demonstrate strong culinary skills and experience, preferably in a quality restaurant/culinary environment.
  • Efficiently manage your section.
  • Maintain organization and precision with a creative approach.
  • Handle stock orders, deliveries, stock rotation, and maintain high standards of food hygiene.
  • Hold relevant food safety training and culinary qualifications.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, working well as part of a team.
  • Multi-task and work effectively under pressure, remaining calm in high-stress situations.
  • Uphold kitchen hygiene standards and procedures.
  • Some roles may require proven line management/supervisory experience in a kitchen/culinary environment, leading the kitchen brigade in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • Be enthusiastic, motivational, creative, and strive for excellence.

Experience and Skills:

  • Hotel Experience: 1 to 3 years (preferred).
  • Chef Experience: 1 to 3 years (preferred).
  • Excellent knowledge of various sections.
  • Ability to produce high-quality food.
  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm to develop your skills and those around you.
  • Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work.
  • Positive and approachable manner.
  • Strong team player qualities.
