Salary: £15.00 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week (4 x 10-hour shifts, 7am–5pm), including alternate weekends
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join a luxury care home team in Congleton, Chesire. In this vital role, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving daily nutritious meals that delight its residents. You will uphold the highest standards of food quality, safety, and environmental compliance, while inspiring and leading your kitchen team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
Plan, prepare, and serve balanced, nutritious, and appealing meals for residents.
Ensure all food purchases are fresh, high-quality, and within budget.
Maintain exceptional health, safety, and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient working environment.
Develop and update menus that cater to residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
Train and supervise kitchen staff to uphold quality and safety standards.
Manage kitchen schedules and meal preparation times effectively.
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as part of a rota.
Previous experience as a Chef, ideally within a healthcare or hospitality setting.
Excellent culinary skills with a strong knowledge of various cooking techniques.
A good understanding of nutrition and specialist dietary requirements.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under pressure.
Thorough knowledge of food safety, health, and hygiene regulations.
Committed to delivering high-quality service and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen.
Flexible, reliable, and passionate about making a positive impact.
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to achieve Intermediate Food Hygiene qualifications).
NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation/Catering or equivalent.
First Aid Certification desirable.
