Establishment: Luxury Care Home
Location: Diss, Norfolk
Salary: £15.00 Per Hour
Hours: This role is 40 hours per week - 4 x 7am to 5pm shifts / This includes alternate weekends

Job Summary:

Join our luxury care home as a Chef, where you will play a crucial role in planning and providing daily nutritious meals for our residents. You'll ensure the highest standards of food quality, health, safety, and environmental compliance while managing budget and inspiring your kitchen team to deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals for residents.
  • Ensure food purchases are fresh and within budget.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Inspire and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a team-oriented environment.
  • Develop menus that meet dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure timely meal preparation.
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
  • Excellent cooking skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques.
  • Understanding of nutrition and dietary requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Leadership skills to train and supervise kitchen staff.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Food Hygiene Certified – Level 2 (willingness to work towards Intermediate Food Hygiene qualifications).
  • First Aid Certified.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation/Catering.
