The role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Buyer to join their team. This role supports the buying function through a mix of pricing analysis, administrative coordination, stakeholder relationship management, project assistance, and category support.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, commercially aware, and eager to develop their career.
Key Responsibilities:
● Pricing Benchmarking: Support pricing analysis by reviewing prospective customers’ current pricing structures versus the client's to identify gaps, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
● Buying Administration: Manage key admin tasks including data management, maintaining supplier information, and supporting day-to-day operations.
● Relationship Management: Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external suppliers, understand customer needs and challenges, aligning the solutions to their business objectives.
● Category Support: Assist with elements of category leadership, contributing insights and supporting the category strategy.
● Project Involvement: Provide support on cross-functional buying and commercial projects, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.
● Reporting & Insights: Help preparing reports, pricing comparisons, and presentations to support decision-making within the Buying and Category teams.
● Supplier Data: capture and reconciliation of contract monies
Skills & Experience:
● Experience in a buying, procurement, or commercial support role (preferred but not essential).
● Strong analytical and numeracy skills; confident working with pricing data and Excel.
● Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
● Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
● Highly organized, detail-focused, and proactive in approach.
