Job Title: Breakfast Chef
Establishment: Luxury Hotel & Two Rosette Restaurant
Location: Stroud, Cotswolds
Salary: £27,000 P/A + Service Charge (approx. £3,500 per year)
Hours: Permanent, 40 hours per week (mornings only)

Their two-rosette restaurant is celebrated for its seasonal, locally sourced cuisine, featuring ingredients from their own kitchen gardens. Known for its farm-to-fork ethos, the restaurant offers an elevated breakfast experience, from artisanal pastries and locally cured meats to creative plant-based dishes and signature hot specials.

The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Breakfast Chef to take ownership of the morning service at this award-winning establishment. This role is ideal for a chef who thrives in a calm, organised, and early-start environment, ensuring guests enjoy an exceptional breakfast experience.

As Breakfast Chef, you will work closely with the Sous and Head Chef, crafting and presenting high-quality breakfast dishes while maintaining the hotel’s two-rosette standard. With a focus on fresh, locally sourced produce, you’ll have the opportunity to develop creative morning menus and contribute to the restaurant’s farm-to-table philosophy.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present an exceptional breakfast menu, balancing classic favourites with innovative, seasonal dishes.
  • Ensure a smooth early-morning service, maintaining efficiency and consistency.
  • Work with the finest local produce, including homemade bread, free-range eggs, and farm-fresh dairy.
  • Maintain impeccable hygiene, stock control, and kitchen organisation.
  • Assist with preparations for afternoon teas and light lunch service.
  • Develop new breakfast dishes, bringing creativity to the morning offering.
  • Support junior chefs and collaborate with the wider kitchen team.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Experience as a Breakfast Chef or Chef de Partie with strong breakfast experience in a high-quality restaurant or hotel.
  • Passion for seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and farm-to-fork cooking.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently in a morning-focused role.
  • Knowledge of classic breakfast techniques, from perfect poaching to sourdough baking.
  • A positive, team-focused approach with high standards for food safety and hygiene.
