Breakfast Chef - Banbury

Job title: Breakfast & Daytime Chef

Location: Banbury
Salary: £13 - £15 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: 30-40 hours per week

We are seeking a talented and passionate Breakfast & Daytime Chef to join our culinary team. This role is primarily responsible for breakfast service and contributing to the lunchtime menu.

The ideal candidate will have extensive kitchen experience and a strong background in food production and preparation. As a Chef, you will oversee kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. This position requires strong self-management and initiative, as there will be times when you will be working service independently.

Key Responsibilities 

• Direct daily food production activities, ensuring an efficient workflow.
• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in line with menu specifications.
• Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
• Manage inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Monitor and maintain mise en place for the assigned section.
• Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and specials, bringing a passion for culinary excellence.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area.
• Monitor portion control and manage waste to optimise efficiency

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Breakfast Chef or in a similar culinary role within the hospitality industry.
• Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management.
• Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail in food presentation.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
• Previous full-service restaurant experience is highly desirable.
• Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are a plus
