The Opportunity
A spectacular Grade II listed Victorian mansion set in the heart of the Berkshire countryside is seeking a dynamic Operational Assistant Wedding & Events Manager to join its team. This elegant venue hosts a wide range of events including weddings, conferences, training workshops, and large-scale celebrations—featuring one of the largest event spaces in the region, accommodating up to 500 guests.
This is a hands-on operational role ideal for someone with energy, passion, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. You’ll be at the heart of creating unforgettable experiences in a truly inspiring setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and oversee all conferencing, weddings, and banqueting events on site.
- Lead and support the events team in delivering first-class service.
- Set up and tear down event spaces in line with function requirements.
- Meet and greet clients, building strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
- Work closely with the sales team to ensure smooth handover from enquiry to execution.
- Organise and deliver training in line with brand standards.
- Ensure all operational aspects of events run smoothly, professionally, and on time.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience running weddings and events in a hospitality or hotel setting.
- Previous supervisory or assistant manager experience.
- Excellent communication skills—confident, articulate, and professional.
- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
- Creative mindset with an eye for design and presentation.
- Comfortable with physical work and flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Opera is a plus.
- Driving licence preferred.
